Two teenagers from the municipality of Groningen were arrested last weekend after a manhunt for a possible street robbery in Zuidlaren. The victim was threatened and had to hand over his scooter and money.

The robbery took place on Friday evening around 11.15 pm at the Ludinge in Zuidlaren. The suspects are two boys aged 15 and 16. They used a firearm or something similar, the police report. Once the teens got the loot, they ran off.

The police started a manhunt, using a police helicopter and dogs. Officers wore bulletproof vests. The police did not want to say anything about the events in Zuidlaren and Tynaarlo last weekend.

The track eventually led to a municipal site on the Zuidlaarderweg in Tynaarlo. The boys were arrested around two o’clock.
