The Dutch first division club FC Twente Enschede presented a new head coach after a mixed start of the season with just one win from the first five games: John van den Brom, who works at Vitesse Arnheim until summer, succeeds the Joseph Oosting released at the beginning of September and signed a contract until the end of the season. Most recently, assistant coach Jeffrey de Verscher had looked after the team interim.

“He is a very experienced trainer who has proven itself nationally and internationally. In our current position, this experience is essential; he knows the Dutch league. In addition, John is immediately available. Our conversations with him in the past few days have shown that John has been very motivated here,” said Twente’s technical director Jan Streuer.

Van Den Brom said on Monday evening: “I am very much looking forward to this job. He gives me the opportunity to work for a fantastic club of the Eredivisie and lead him up again, because FC Twente belongs. I am proud to be here; I am very looking forward to getting to know the players and staff quickly. We will work hard for the game against Sparta Rotterdam on Friday.”
