Punk pop icon: Chrissie Hynde in a film portrait

The German-French cultural broadcaster about the film: “The documentary looks back on decades of rock music full of drama, passion, sadness and a resilience that has stood the test of time. ‘We lived for rock and rock killed us,’ she said [Hynde] after the death of band members Jimmy and Pete, who died after the second album in the early 80s as a result of their drug use. Thanks to Chrissie’s incredible efforts, the Pretenders got back together, toured again and played the biggest stages in the world. To this day, the indestructible band with their diverse sound is an exception in the history of rock music.”
