Cologne rises to the Bundesliga. During the game there is a curious moment in TV broadcast. The focus: commentator Frank Buschmann. After that there is sharp criticism.

Football commentator Frank Buschmann caused a stir on the last matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga with a strange moment. The “Buschi” known for his emotional type of reporting was divided into the final of the 2nd Bundesliga for the Sky broadcast of the game between promotion candidate 1. FC Köln and 1. FC Kaiserslautern. And had the ecstatic atmosphere in the Cologne stadium.

Because after the meantime 2: 0 of the “Effzeh” by Luca Waldschmidt, all the dams broke not only among the spectators in the RheinEnergieStadion. Buschmann let himself be carried away by the mood and sang the club’s anthem of the Cologne team in the microphone: “Kölle Alaaf, Alaaf! Kölle Alaaf!” Let the usual journalistic distance miss.

A few minutes later, Buschmann also apologized live in the broadcast: “The Gäfe went through me a bit,” said the 60-year-old, emphasizing that his enthusiasm had nothing to do with sympathy for the Domstadt: “Not because I am a glowing supporter of 1. FC Köln, but because the mood was incredible.” And further: “And since we are all musical people, I have a bit of a little trouble.” Buschmann concluded his explanation with the sentence: “I ask everyone who disturbed it, sorry.”

For some spectators, Buschmann’s emotional vocal contribution nevertheless met with no understanding: “Frank Buschmann should in future comment on the price boxing at the fun fair,” wrote one user at X. Another said: “Oberpeinlich”. One more thing wrote ironically: “The new ESC hope Frank Buschmann.”

Others welcomed that the long -time commentator went like this: “Buschmann by far the best commentator. Football urgently needs emotions,” commented one user. “Frank Buschmann icon” raved another.
