At the Turn-European Championships in Leipzig, Nils Dunkel missed a surprise medal, but still got a top position.
The German gymnast Nils Dunkel is scarcer in the all-round final of the home European Championships in Leipzig than expected past the medal ranks. Dunkel came in a strong fifth place with 80.932 points on Thursday evening, team -mate Timo Eder took 13th place with 79.231 points. The Turking Adem Asil (82,398) became European champion ahead of Leo Saladino (France/81,430) and Krisztofer Meszaros (Hungary/81.164).
Nils dark with a strong start
Dark had found well into the competition in front of around 5,200 spectators in the Leipzig exhibition hall 1 and even guided on the pommel horse and on the rings after his first two exercises.
