Mopreme Shakur, the brother of murdered rapper Tupac Shakur, said in a new interview that Tupac’s murder would not have remained unsolved for so long if he had been white. “Pac was a young black man and we have problems in this country when it comes to justice,” he said “Sky News”.
He recently spoke to TMZ about the arrest of the new suspect.

Mopreme continues in the video interview with Sky News: “It’s just the nature of the beast in America. I’m realistic about that.” Mopreme explains more about the arrest in connection with the murder: “I was shocked, surprised and amazed because it was so long ago. We haven’t heard anything for 27 years. My daughter is 27 years old, so any responsibility is good at this point.”
Mopreme believes others must be held criminally responsible for his brother’s murder: “It would be a shame if they [die Justiz] wouldn’t get it right after all this time. So that means they would have to investigate all connections to this case and get the full justice we want.”

But: “There are doubts about their sincerity. How far are you willing to go? Will they go all the way and catch all the accomplices?”
Despite Mopreme’s doubts about the justice system and policing, Bobby Ladd, a former police officer in Compton, Los Angeles, who was in charge of investigating the case, told Sky News he was “delighted” that the new charges had been filed. Because: “Hopefully the family can get justice. The whole world, I think – he was so popular.”

Shakur died at the age of 25 on September 13, 1996, a few days after he was shot on September 7.
