Tunisia’s footballers have qualified for the final round of a world championship for the seventh time. The team from North Africa secured its place thanks to a 1-0 (0: 0) success in Equatorialgenua. Substitute Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhan scored the goal for the necessary victory in the fourth minute of stoppage time, which the guests celebrated stormily. In Group H of the Africa qualification, the Tunisians are now in first place before their last two games.
Tunisia is the 18th team that has their starting place at the tournament in the coming summer in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Then there are 48 teams for the first time at a final round. At the last World Championships in Russia and 2022 in Qatar in 2022, Tunisia was eliminated in the preliminary round. Three years ago, however, a 1-0 win was achieved by the then defending champion France.
