Tumor discovered in former Ajax player Sébastien Haller

With former Ajax player SéBastien Haller has been diagnosed with a tumor in one of his testes, his new employer Borussia Dortmund reports. The 28-year-old striker has left the club’s training camp in Switzerland and is under further investigation in Germany.

The former Ajax player was not feeling well after training on Monday morning. Borussia Dortmund first announced that Haller was ill, but an examination at the hospital showed that he has a tumor near a testicle.

“This news came as a shock to Sébastien and to all of us today,” said sports director of German club Sebastian Kehl. “The entire Borussia family wishes Sebastien to be completely healthy as soon as possible and that we can embrace him again soon. We will do everything we can to ensure that he receives the best possible treatment.”

31 million euros

Haller made the transfer from Ajax to Borussia Dortmund in this transfer period for an amount of 31 million euros, plus four million euros in bonuses. The Ivorian played with the team from Amsterdam since January 2021 and managed to score 21 times in the Eredivisie and eleven times in the Champions League last season.
