Tuchel complains in the direction of the Augsburg bank – and explains himself later

Shortly before the end of the game, Bayern coach Tuchel barked towards the Augsburg bench. Hours later he explains the incident.

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel took his tirade of tirade towards the Augsburg bank heard on TV with humor. “Not so good, but not so bad either,” said the 50-year-old in ZDF’s “Aktuelle Sportstudio” when asked about the scene during his Munich team’s 3-2 win over FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga.

In the final phase of the game, Tuchel had an argument with Augsburg sports director Marinko Jurendic. Among other things, his exclamation: “Are you crazy or what? What’s wrong with you?” was captured by the microphones.

“I have apologized”

“He had complained about time and didn’t see that we had an injured player, that annoyed me,” said Tuchel later about the situation in which Bayern goalscorer Aleksandar Pavlovic was injured.

“We spoke briefly afterwards, everything was fine.” Jurendic also reported on the subsequent discussion with the Munich coach. “I didn’t see that the player was injured. I then apologized and the referee gave up the time, everything was fine,” said the 46-year-old.

FC Bayern has reduced the gap to Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen to two points. With three points against Augsburg and a mistake by the Werkclub, the Munich team have now come closer again. However, Bayern’s victory was marred by an injury: Kingsley Coman, he has probably torn an inner ligament and is likely to be out for weeks.
