In the men’s singles fight on the 9th day of the tournament held in the capital, Paris, Rune, who made the first 4th round match of his grand slam career, faced last year’s finalist Tsitsipas.
19-year-old Rune, who won 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 and 6-4 sets after 3 hours from the court, made it to the last 8 in his first main painting experience at Roland Garros.
Rune faced off against 8th seed Casper Ruud in the quarterfinals.
