Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim reacted to Koki Machida’s serious knee injury and committed the Swiss Albian Hajdari as a replacement for central defense.
The 22-year-old moves from Swiss first division club FC Lugano to the Bundesliga and receives a “long-term contract” from the Kraichgauer. The club announced this on Monday.
“With Albian we have signed a player who fits our profile perfectly: he is young, left foot, top trained and brings extensive experience from the Swiss league and from European competitions,” said Hoffenheim’s sports manager Andreas Schicker: “We have been following Albian’s development for a long time and are happy that we were able to win him in the current situation”.
Machida had suffered a cruciate ligament tear in the left knee last weekend in the 2-1 win at Bayer Leverkusen.
In the past three years, Hajdari has played a total of 110 games (5 goals) for FC Lugano. With the club, he also played in the Champions League qualification.
In March, the defensive specialist made his debut in the national team, previously he had passed all the young teams.
