Only 11 minutes of play at TSG
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim started the season well under new coach André Breitenreiter and is fourth in the Champions League with 13 points from seven games. U21 international Angelo Stiller, who was mostly a regular last year, has had surprisingly little to do with it. After an injury in preparation, the defensive midfielder is struggling to catch up and has only been on the field for eleven minutes in the Bundesliga.
The strong new signing Grischa Prömel (27), Dennis Geiger (24) and the more offensive Christoph Baumgartner (23) are currently ahead in Breitenreiter’s 3-5-2 system in midfield, as is TSG record player Sebastian Rudy (32), mostly as a joker, you get more bets. When asked about this, Stiller, who was last twice in the starting XI for the U21s, said “table football“: “I had a difficult preparation, was injured, so I didn’t get to my fitness. We succeeded. The players who play my position are doing well at the moment. So it’s clear that the coach isn’t rotating.”
Stiller, who is committed until 2025, is thinking of a winter transfer, but that’s not why. When asked if he could rule out such a thing, FC Bayern’s home-grown child said: “Yes, I think so.”
