Hamburger SV is one of the largest clubs in Germany. In the New sticker on T-Online you will find all the important messages about the “red pants”.
At the promotion ceremony of Hamburger SV, Hamburg’s first mayor Peter Tschentscher thought of the late club legend Uwe Seeler. “Today Uwe Seeler would be very proud of his HSV,” said the SPD politician in the town hall. Seeler, honorary citizen of the Hanseatic city, died almost three years ago.
Today the historically only and at the same time the last promotion of the HSV, the mayor continued, “because the club will never relegate at human discretion, never again.” At the beginning of his speech, he emphasized: “The Dino is back.”
Tschenscher also emphasized the loyalty of the HSV fans and the impressive performance of the HSV women, who also made the promotion to the first Bundesliga. He praised the rapid development of the team. Read here how things went on at the promotion party.
Before the big double promotion ceremony of Hamburger SV begins, thousands of fans are already waiting at the town hall market. The police initially could not give an exact number of spectators. Numerous fans came early to get a good place. The HSV flag was raised at the town hall. There was already a jubilee when HSV cult fan “Grandma Eva”, Eva Stahl, arrived.
Almost a week after the rise of women and men to the Bundesliga, the first mayor Peter Tschenscher welcomes the promoters in the town hall. After that, the teams want to move on large trucks with music at around 6.45 p.m. and take the internal altesters once to thank the fans for their support until around 9 p.m.
Tens of thousands of fans are expected on the town hall market and around the Innenalster on Monday for the big celebration on the occasion of the double promotion of the HSV women and men. Almost a week after the special coup, the first mayor Peter Tschentscher welcomes the promoters in the town hall from 5 p.m.
The HSV flag at the town hall is already being raised in the afternoon. According to several media reports, the police expect a total of 120,000 fans.
Hamburger SV missed the targeted second division championship. The team of coach Merlin Polzin lost 2: 3 (0: 1) at SpVgg Greuther Fürth on the last match day and ended the season in second place. The longed-for Bundesliga return after seven years in the lower house had already made the HSV perfect the previous week.
The focus is now focused on the big end of the season. On Monday afternoon, the team’s players and those responsible for the team were invited to the official promotion ceremony in the Hamburg town hall together with the HSV women’s team.
Sports board member Stefan Kuntz sees Hamburger SV, despite the promotion after seven years of second-class, not economically at eye level with many Bundesliga competitors. “We have to accept that we cannot compete with Augsburg, Berlin, Freiburg and Mainz in the next season,” said the 62-year-old in an interview with the weekly newspaper “Die Zeit”.
One reason is the long absence from the upper house. Kuntz announced that the course has taken away from humility and economic reason. New loans-for example from investor Klaus-Michael Kühne-are excluded: “We are not starting to go to Switzerland immediately.”
According to Kuntz, the HSV is planning a mixture of experienced leader players, regulars and talents. He does not completely rule out a costly star obligation if it fits the philosophy of the association. “So I would take Florian Wirtz!”, Kuntz said with a wink. However, “mentality and quality” are crucial for possible new additions.
