US President Donald Trump is confident in the trade dispute with the European Union.
He had just been informed that EU representatives: Innn had reported to quickly arrange appointments for meetings, the Republican wrote Truth Social on his online language tube. That is “positive”. He hoped that the EU would open up more to trade with the USA. At the same time, Trump threatened that he was authorized to determine trade conditions for access to the US market if no agreement was achieved or that the United States was treated unfairly.
On Friday, Trump surprisingly threatened the EU with punitive tariffs of 50 percent from June 1st, only to push them up for a good month on Monday night.
Now both sides want to find a solution by July 9th. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen wrote on the weekend after a phone call with Trump on the platform X: “Europe is ready to advance talks quickly and determined.”
