A shock is going through the Netherlands: at the end of this afternoon, millions of telephones came in a push message with the news that Freek Rikkerink (32) of the immensely popular duo Suzan & Freek is incurably ill. They received the news yesterday and announced this afternoon on them Instagram-page.
Metastases
Suzan & Freek were completely beaten. “Dear all, yesterday our world was completely turned upside down. We were told that sown lung cancer has been found at Freek. Because of these metastases there is no chance of healing anymore. We are completely defeated, it feels so unfair.”
At the same time, they announce that she is pregnant. “We have been inseparable for 18 years and together we still have so many beautiful things to live for. At the end of this year we hope to welcome our child together. ❤️”
As long as possible
Suzan & Freek made a very long journey together last year. They had just started performing again. “We will enjoy the time that we have granted together for as long as possible, even if we do not know how long that will be. We therefore stop immediately and lay down all our work.”
