The “cultural battle” of ultra-conservators is against Western culture. While stirring the spectrum of communism, their cannons point and shoot at the ultimate materialization of Western values.
Conspiracy theories become the official version. Donald Trump drives delobalization and generates a new yalta to divide the world into three, or the great four poles, while Elon Musk dismantles the agency that supervises humanitarian programs that provide assistance in 120 countries, accusing it of promoting progressive causes and financing weapons bacteriological such as COVID.
At the same time, it advances in the dismantling of programs referring to sexual, racial and cultural diversity. Vistiginously, homophobia and racism become a plan of the American administration, in addition to flaming in the flags of the ultraconservative groupings that multiply and grow in Europe and the Americas.
What the leaders of the reactionary wave are attacking with visceral, from Javier Milei to Musk, through Santiago Abascal, Viktor Orban, Vladimir Putin and Giorgia Meloni among others, is the western values that germinated in the liberal revolutions of the centuries XVIII and XIX, reaching its splendor in the cultural revolutions that shook the twentieth century.
Of the Judeo -Christian roots of European civilization and the laboratories and scientific books of the Renaissance, the savias that diversified the idea of power that the Middle Ages had crossed, reaching the monarchical absolutism.
With the so -called glorious revolution in seventeenth -century England, the Big Bang of liberal ideas that engendered the Enlightenment began and starred in the Bastille and Independence of the United States.
That was the prelude to what Karl Popper called “Open Society”, the scenario where the intellectual and artistic movements of the twentieth century generated the cultural revolutions that demolished prejudices and supremacisms. In open society, majorities do not despise minorities and defend the culture of tolerance and respect for diversities.
That is the western culture that was forged in the cultural revolutions of the twentieth century. These creative rebellions did not happen in Marxist systems or oriental theocracies, but in Europe and in the democracies of Canada and the United States. The China of Mao Tse-Tung, Fidel Castro’s Cuba and the Soviet Union, just like fascist dictatorships, were strongly antipheminist and homophobic regimes. Also Islamist theocracies, both in the Shiite and Sunism slope, discriminate against other religious groups, establish the inequality between men and women subtracting rights and guarantees to women, and persecute homosexuals condemning them to prison or death penalty.
The cultural revolutions of the twentieth century eradicated in the West the moralisms and segregations that amputated individual freedoms and rights. The true cultural revolutions occurred in the last century in democracies that give rise to critical thinking, opposition and answering movements that are expressed in the streets, books and arts. From surrealism to hypism, pop art and rock are part of the cultural effervescence generated by Western culture. From the Beatles to Andy Warhol, through existentialism and sicodelia, they were liberation usines.
Against that ram the recalcitrant leaders who ferment in the specifications of democracy and corrode it from the inside. Fights such as feminism and values such as freedom, equality, diversity, pluralism, inclusion and tolerance are not cultural Marxism but liberal spirit. Repudiating these values is to attack Western culture. That makes the “cultural battle” of the European ultra-right, the American Alt-Right, the retarding indigenisms that reject the current laws, and the furious conservative extremism expressed by Milei and Musk, among others.
They are on the same path of the Chief of Kremlin and the German neo -Nazis that Alice Weidel leads. That is why the owner of Tesla and the Russian president finance the alternative Für Deutschland (AFD). And in that path is Trump, collaborating with the Redesign of the Mapamundi that the leaders of Russia, China and India want.
The three are ultra -nationalists but Putin and Narendra Modi also share the supremacism of religious matrix (Orthodox Christian, one; Hinduist, the other) that prevails in those powers.
The war expansionism that made blood run in the Caucasus and now in Ukraine, is the Russian version of the threat of Xi Jinping over Taiwan, its repression to the Uigur ethnicity in Xingiang and the maritime expansion at the expense of the Philippines and Vietnam, as well as also of Hindu supremacism that secretes Muslims, Sikhs and Buddhists in India and in the surrounding area.
See Trump twisting the arm to Mexico and Canada with the threat of tariffs, while forcing Panama to divorce from China through the threat of expropriating the interoceanic channel, will be worrying Japan, South Korea and the Philippines.
