Trump had secret documents about country’s nuclear power

Former President Donald Trump had in his possession classified documents about the defense of a foreign power, including its nuclear capabilities. That reports The Washington Post based on anonymous sources. The country in question is not reported. The documents were found last month by FBI agents during a search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida.

Some of the documents found describe top-secret operations that are so closely guarded that only the president and some members of his cabinet can see them. These types of documents require special permission to view and are normally kept under lock and key. But these documents had been in Trump’s Florida villa for more than eighteen months, whose security was not clear. In addition, dozens of empty folders were found, including 48 empty folders marked “secret”. As a result, it is not clear whether all missing documents have been found. The Justice Department has launched a criminal investigation against Trump over the discovery of the documents.

Last month, the FBI searched Trump’s residence for taking documents from the White House. More than 11,000 government documents were found in the house, scattered in a storage room and in his office. An investigation is now underway to determine how much potential damage was caused by taking these classified documents.
