“In ancient Rome, a dictator was given the power to resolve a crisis for six months. Then he had to leave. Otherwise it would go wrong,” says Frank Schaper. “Trump is such a te-sitting person.” Fascinated by leadership, Schaper made his life’s work from Donald Trump. “Trump is incomprehensible, but still understandable if you know his role models.” He copies it flawlessly. “The gaze and hand gestures on photos come directly from actor Clint Eastwood. His Trump Tower is a nod to super villain Goldfinger and the Hiltons.” And lying? “He learned that from his father. With Mantra: only the strongest survival.” According to Schaper, there is no political ideology behind Trump’s behavior, but an addiction to attention. “He is mainly concerned with the cliffhanger for next week,” he says. “Everything to hold the audience.”
