In February, Donald Trump was the first acting US president to visit the Super Bowl-and the most powerful and most controversial man in the world apparently discovered football as his stage: On Monday, Trump announced in the Oval Office of the White House in the presence of the NFL leadership that the Draft 2027 will take place on the National Mall in the heart of Washington.
“I think there has never been anything like that,” said Trump: “It will be wonderful. Something that nobody will be able to repeat anymore.” NFL boss Roger Goodell was “honored” – by the message and its announcement.
The latest draft edition in Green Bay/Wisconsin in early April visited a total of 600,000 fans over three days. Trump will want to top this – on the famous open space between Capitol and Lincoln Memorial, on which new or re -elected presidents of the United States are introduced to office.
Most recently, Trump had already received Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles for a traditional visit to the White House.
