A truck was hit against a viaduct this morning on the A28 at De Punt. Due to the accident, the highway is close in the direction of Assen. Rijkswaterstaat expects to be busy with cleaning up and repair work all afternoon.
The truck hit a pillar of the viaduct, above which the N34 runs and then arrived against the crash barriers. The driver was trapped and was removed from the cabin by emergency services. Then he was taken to the hospital. It is not clear how the driver is like.
A traffic jam has emerged on both sides of the A28. Traffic in the direction of Assen has to make a detour for the time being. Road users towards Groningen can cross the A28, but must take into account delays.
