The accident happened around 8 am at the intersection of Diksmuidseweg and Steenstraat in Boezinge (Ypres). It is still unclear how the bus and truck collided.
There were three passengers on the De Lijn bus, they and the driver were slightly injured. “The truck driver was seriously trapped in his cabin due to the collision and had to be freed by the fire brigade. He was transferred to the AZ Delta hospital in Roeselare,” says Kristof Louagie of the Westhoek fire brigade.
