Trouble in Rudow – carsharing cars block residents’ parking spaces

Where are all those carsharing cars suddenly coming from? A company wanted to relieve BER Airport over Easter…

“Miles” cars close together, the Ursulinenstraße in Rudow over the Easter holidays parked by vehicles that can be rented via app. The search for free places in Berlin is difficult anyway.

Resident Volker Aslan (39) annoyed: “The cars are distributed along the entire street. But I don’t understand why, because the area doesn’t actually belong to the provider’s business area.”

According to Nora Goette, spokeswoman for “Miles”, it was an attempt by the car sharing company: “We wanted to relieve the parking situation at the nearby airport over the holidays. That probably didn’t go down well everywhere.”

Residents can rest easy. Since Tuesday it has not been possible to park these cars there – as before.

Whether the company will dare another test run in other areas could be seen over the long weekend around Pentecost. Perhaps better feedback can be expected then.
