Shortly before the DFB Cup final, VfB Stuttgart surprises with a new jersey sponsor. Instead of Winamax, another logo now adorns the shirt.
The breast ring gets a new coat of paint-at least for one evening: In the DFB Cup final against Arminia Bielefeld, Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart will play at short notice with the logo of the Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW). The club announced this just a few hours before the game in the Berlin Olympic Stadium as well as the LBBW itself.
It was actually planned that, as recently, the French betting provider Winamax should be seen on the jersey. But VfB decided. According to the Club, the short -term change was “necessary from an entrepreneurial perspective”. According to the “Bild”, Winamax has not been able to comply with contractual obligations for several weeks and have not paid for his rates for sponsorship. It should be a seven -digit amount.
VfB CEO Alexander Wehrle thanked the LBBW for quick step in. It is a strong sign of connection and reliability. It also shows that the common motto “from the region, for the region” is not just a slogan, but is lived.
Last September, the association announced that the LBBW will be the main and jerseys of the club from the 2025/26 season- initially until 2028. Previously, there had been criticism of the partnership with Winamax within the fan scene.
