Surprise in the Champions League: Paris St. Germain was eliminated in the round of 16. In the end, Real Madrid were just too strong. In the other game, Manchester City didn’t miss a beat and are now in the quarter-finals.
They failed again: Paris St. Germain was eliminated in the round of 16 of the Champions League. Despite a 1-0 win against Real Madrid in the first leg, despite a 1-0 lead in the second leg – in the end Real played the Parisians against the wall and won 3-2. Because the king of the royals scored three times: Karim Benezma (61st/76th/78th). Kylian Mbappé had scored the goal for PSG (39th).

Mbappé, that was the very bad news for Real at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, got fit in time and completed the dream storm again with Lionel Messi and Neymar. In the second game of the evening, Manchester City also advanced to the quarter-finals with a 0-0 draw against Sporting Lisbon. Coach Pep Guardiola’s team clearly won the first leg in Lisbon 5-0.
Guardiola made six changes from his team’s triumphant 4-1 win over Manchester United three days earlier in the league derby. As a result, in addition to Gündogan, the only 19-year-old defender CJ Egan-Riley rotated into the starting lineup of the Citizens for his premier class debut.
