Director Mike Binder, one of the actor’s closest friends, staged a special memorial service for invited guests in Hollywood a few weeks after Saget’s death. Jim Carrey, Chris Rock, John Mayer and John Stamos, who appeared with Saget in ‘Full House’, paid tribute to the actor on stage that evening.
Binder showed fragments to Netflix afterwards, because there were also a lot of “hilarious” stories and that is why he wants to broadcast it, he says in the podcast ‘Dystopia Tonight! with John Poveromo’. He does not say when the special can be seen on the streaming service in June.
Saget passed away on January 9 at the age of 65.
