This is what the route looks like

A triathlon, the name already reveals it, is already completed in three stages. It is swimming, cycling and running. This is no different on the extremely tedious Ironman distance. In Frankfurt – or rather: In the Frankfurt metropolitan region – the participants only plunge into the Langener Waldsee, then flit through the Taunus on their bikes and finally do four rounds in front of the skyline. For better orientation, there is the route of every discipline in the picture.

How to see the race in the HR

These are the favorites

The Ironman Frankfurt is as well staffed this year as it is rarely before. “It’s a sensational field. I’m looking forward to it”, at least said HR expert Kienle recently. And he has at least five good reasons for it.

Local hero and world champion Patrick Lange (Bad Wildungen), last year’s winner and defending champion Kristian Blummenfelt (Norway), his compatriot Gustav Idn, the World Cup second and challenge-Roth-Dominator Magnus Ditlev (Denmark) and the World Cup third Rodolphe from Berg (USA): You are all the European championship title this year. We are better not even starting to start with the fact that other strong athletes in the field can at least calculate outsiders chances. It should remain a compact overview.

These are the most important closures

Swimming in the Langen Waldsee have to do without leisure bathers at the weekend. The marathon in Frankfurt’s city center leads to mobility restrictions around the banks of the Main, especially the 180-kilometer cycling route ensures A number of closures and traffic disruptions.

The bike route first leads from the Waldsee to the Frankfurter City. It goes beyond Hanauer Landstrasse before Hochstadt, Wachenbuchen, Nidderau and Altenstadt are passed. The northernmost point of the Ironman Day is a Stammheim, from there it goes back towards Frankfurt.

In the city, the bike route leads along Friedberger Landstrasse and Konrad-Adenauer-Straße to the Konstablerwache and from there to the Main. The final marathon finally finds Stat on both sides of the ban. The finish is on the Römerberg. The organizer has another one this year Interactive blocking time map Created, on which all impairments of traffic are shown in detail.
