A fragment of Javier Milei’s interview with Esteban Trebucq on LN+ has gone viral on networks, highlighting a subtle gesture by the journalist. In the video, you can see how Trebucq intervenes discreetly when he notices Milei’s “crazy fingers”, a tic with strange hand movements, alerting him with a gesture of his own. Milei, picking up the cue, adjusts her posture and continues speaking, mirroring an attempt at mutual support captured in the clip.

This “crazy fingers” tic came to light at the beginning of October, during a speech by Milei in Rural, where his uncoordinated movements attracted attention and generated comments on networks. Some maintain that the habit is especially evident when Milei does not have his famous attachment notebook, an accessory that has accompanied him since his days as a television economist. With his hands free, the tic becomes more evident, revealing a nervous trait that marks his appearances.

However, in another section of the same interview on October 16, the tension increased. Trebucq asked him about a statement by Donald Trump, who had made US economic aid contingent on the results of the October 26 legislative elections. It should be noted that Milei had accused Clarín of decontextualizing those words to harm his government. At the mention of the journalist, Milei burst out: “Stop interrupting me or go read the Clarín journalist.” The outburst drew attention, especially because of Trebucq’s historical support for the president.

Milei’s wear and tear is increasingly noticeable. According to analysts Pablo Caruso and Carlos Heller from Bravo TV’s QR program (PERFIL), the President is going through deep wear and tear and that the ruling party ‘is dedicated to patching itself up.’ “Today, the president is more busy explaining his own steps than governing,” they said.

Trebucq’s gesture contained the tic momentarily, but the interview exposed fissures and presidential exhaustion. In a government where image is key, these episodes could be signs of leadership under pressure.
