At least six people were injured in the riots after the southwest derby between Karlsruher SC and 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
According to the current status of the investigation, two law enforcement officers suffered serious injuries, three other security service employees and a police officer each suffered minor injuries, the Karlsruhe police said. It was said that no injuries to fans involved from the two second division soccer teams had been reported.
After Baden’s 2-3 defeat against Palatinate on Saturday, KSC fans tried to argue with FCK supporters at the fence of the visitors’ block, and fights broke out. The police and security services were finally able to calm the situation. As a result of the riots, several people were temporarily arrested.
