Turkey are using the advantage of still having an open market to attract free-for-hire or disgruntled players to big European clubs. In February, with the same “ploy”, Galatasaray convinced Nicolò Zaniolo, that he had ended up on the sidelines of Roma but that he remained in the Turkish Süper Lig for a handful of months. Now history is repeating itself and, as the trading in Istanbul and… the surrounding area will close on Friday, other “hits” are possible.
