Radja Nainggolan, one of Roma’s former stars, became a hot topic with the interview she gave to the Italian press. Speaking to Radio Romanista, Nainggolan talked about various moments of his time in Italy, and in one of these memories, he made a remarkable transfer confession about Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray. Here are the words of the Belgian midfielder…
“HE WANTED TO SELL ME TO Türkiye”
“While I was playing in Rome, while I was on holiday, a manager from Türkiye called and said that I had received offers from Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray. I did not understand anything, and my manager had no idea what was going on. Later, when I called this manager again, he told me that Monchi (Roma’s sports director at the time) had authorized him to sell me to Türkiye. Without even my knowledge!”
“IT WAS THE WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE”
“I immediately called Monchi and told him that if he wanted me to leave, I would play and choose the team myself. I went to Inter. I couldn’t continue working with someone I didn’t respect and who lied to me. Monchi was a liar, he wanted to sell everyone out.
If I had known Monchi would leave in 6 months I would have stayed in Rome. But I couldn’t have predicted this that day. “I wouldn’t make that decision again today, it was the worst decision of my life.”
