Chelsea FC increased its loan army again on deadline day and loaned Axel Disasi to West Ham United. The 27-year-old defender is moving to the relegation-threatened Hammers until the end of the season, who were reportedly unable to secure a purchase option.
Disasi came to Chelsea from AS Monaco in the summer of 2023 for 45 million euros. After being seeded in the first season, he was sidelined the following year. In the current season he has been completely left out of the London team and has only been allowed to play for the second team three times. He wasn’t even in the professional squad. His contract with the Blues runs until 2029.
“I’m really excited to be here and have this opportunity. I’m just ready to fight and play games,” Disasi said. “Everyone knows my situation in the last few months, so I just want to get back on the field, feel the feeling of the games and help the team. The club gave me the opportunity to show my quality on the pitch. I spoke to everyone here and I feel like they really wanted me, that’s why I’m here today.” Disasi is the seventh Chelsea professional currently on loan.
