Bundesliga soccer team FC Augsburg has broadened its offensive. As the eleventh-placed club announced on Monday evening, Nigerian attacker Uchenna Ogundu is moving from Turkish first division club Alanyaspor to Augsburg and has signed a contract until the summer of 2031.
According to media reports, Augsburg will pay around six million euros to Alanyaspor; the club had already announced its departure.
“With his pace, his dynamism and his ability to move deep, he suits us perfectly and brings additional variability to our game,” said FCA sporting director Benni Weber. The 19-year-old had two goals and two assists in 17 league games and scored another goal in three appearances in the cup.
The Augsburg team had previously signed Thomas Kastanaras from VfB Stuttgart. The striker should initially gain match practice in the U23, but Weber also believes he can “take the next step”.
