At BVB, trainer Niko Kovač uses an expanded management model. Six players should now take on more responsibility – there is also a surprise.
Dortmund’s coach Niko Kovač relies on clear structures at BVB – not only in the game, but also in communication within the team. Already when he took office in February, he moved captain Emre Can, Nico Schlotterbeck and Pascal Groß to his closer round of trust. At the start of the new season, he expanded this circle.
As the “Bild” newspaper reports, Julian Brandt, Marcel Sabitzer and Waldemar Anton are now part of this internal management circle. The three should lead the team directly and pass on the trainer’s specifications directly – as a kind of extended arm from Kovač.
Personnel adaptation is also a reaction to the current situation in the squad: Schlotterbeck and Can are in construction training, and is currently only coming from the bank. Kovač therefore had to act. The Dortmund game is not yet running smoothly, but after five games the team is unbeaten across competition.
Particularly noteworthy: Marcel Sabitzer’s appointment. After a weak pre -season, a farewell in summer was not excluded. Kovač nevertheless decided to remain the midfielder – a decision that is currently paying off. Sabitzer played into the starting eleven and even replaced new signing Jobe Bellingham.
