The Lower Saxony derby is coming up on Sunday. Hannover 96 receives rival Eintracht Braunschweig. It is boiling with the fans, coach Breitenreiter remains cool.

The club tour of Hannover 96 is disagreed with the occupation of the managing director post and there is also unrest among fans. Before the Lower Saxony derby, the supporters of both camps protest against the partial exclusion of the guest fans. Despite these background noises, the team of coach André Breitenreiter focuses fully on the upcoming game against Eintracht Braunschweig on Sunday at 1.30 p.m. in the Heinz-von-Heiden-Arena.

“I stay on my playing field. I am responsible that we will prepare for football in the best possible way. We put everything else aside. That shouldn’t affect us,” said coach André Breitenreiter. His motto is: “It is crucial on the square.” And then the promotion candidate Hannover was against the table-16. Braunschweig the clear favorite.

“I don’t want to make populist statements. We have to get our game through. If we succeed, we have very good chances to keep the three points in Hanover,” said Breitenreiter. “You will want to get involved in duels to maybe bring a certain emotionality in. Of course, because of course, Eintracht also knows that our team is the better one.”

The former 96 professional experienced this Lower Saxony derby as a trainer. In 2017, both clubs played for the Bundesliga promotion. Breitenreiter replaced Daniel Stendel in Hanover as a chief coach, won the home game against Braunschweig 1-0-and also managed the first division return.

“This is a special game for me. It is very important for the fans and the region,” said Breitenreiter. “But we don’t make anything different because a derby in itself is already motivation enough.”
