The deaf actress Kaylee Hottle has passed away. The 18-year-old died in a car accident on Tuesday morning (July 21) in the U.S. state of Maryland. Her father, Joshua Hottle, confirmed his daughter’s death in a moving video on Facebook, signing in American Sign Language.

Making Film History with Her Role as Jia

Kaylee Hottle rose to fame in 2021 with her breakthrough role in “Godzilla vs. Kong.” She played Jia, a deaf girl who forms a special connection with King Kong through sign language. For many fans, her character quickly became the emotional core of the film.
