Young Senegalese football player Cheikh Toure passed away tragically.
Toure joined the team, believing the promise of joining a professional team from a team that said they would take him to Morocco and put him on trial. However, Toure fell into the hands of a human trafficking group and was taken to Ghana where he was held for ransom.
Toure’s family could not pay the high ransom demanded by the group in question. Thereupon, it was announced that Toure died at the hands of the gang. After the incident emerged, security forces in both Ghana and Senegal launched a large-scale investigation.
