Traffic psychologist: ‘Then the use of smartphones behind the wheel will really decrease’

A fine for cell phone use behind the wheel now amounts to 440 euros and 170 euros while on a bicycle. Despite this, three quarters of adults still use their phone in traffic, according to research by a major insurer. Traffic psychologist Matthijs Dicke-Ogenia explains why road users continue to have difficulty putting their phones away during the entire journey.
