Three cars collided with each other this afternoon on the A28 near Hooghalen, towards Beilen. Due to works by Rijkswaterstaat, the lanes have been relocated there, and the left lane is narrower than normal.
Due to the accident, there is a traffic jam between Assen and Beilen of about 4 kilometers. The delay in the direction of Beilen increased to more than an hour. Around 3.15 pm there are still about ten minutes left.
Several emergency services arrived on the scene, no one had to be taken to the hospital. The damaged cars have been moved so traffic can move past the accident. A salvage company is on site to remove them.
Traffic was also at a standstill in the other direction. There, about twenty minutes of delays and standstill traffic for 7 kilometers had to be taken into account.
