The traffic jam on the A7 between Purmerend-Zuid and the Zaandam junction is over. At the peak of the delays, road users were faced with delays of more than an hour.
The accident temporarily closed three lanes. The traffic jam started near Wijdewormer. Rijkswaterstaat reported that this started to decrease after 8.45 am.
Three cars were involved in the accident. None of the occupants had to be taken to the hospital. A recovery company was deployed to tow the broken vehicles away.
