Traditional race track out for two years

Formula 1 remains true to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps track: the Belgian Grand Prix will be held regularly until 2031. Only two years are missing.
Formula 1 fans can also look forward to races at Spa-Francorchamps in the future. As those responsible for the premier motorsport class announced, the Belgian Grand Prix will remain an integral part of the racing calendar – at least in 2026, 2027, 2029 and 2031. However, the traditional route is not planned for 2028 and 2030. So the route has been out for two years.
Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali emphasized the importance of the race track in a statement: “Spa-Francorchamps is rightly praised by drivers and fans alike as one of the best race tracks in the world.” The route has been extensively modernized in recent years. This includes, among other things, the construction of two new stands that are intended to improve the spectator experience.
Spa-Francorchamps is one of the oldest race tracks in the Formula 1 circus. The track, which opened in 1921, was part of the first Formula 1 World Championship in 1950. Last year Lewis Hamilton won here in a Mercedes. The British driver benefited from the disqualification of his teammate George Russell, whose car was deemed too light after the race.
