From 1 September, schools will be given the opportunity to appoint teacher specialists. They will earn about EUR 5,700 gross per year or EUR 250 net per month. For example, there will be wage differentiation between teachers for the first time, reports ‘De Standaard’. The education unions fear that the measure will lead to friction in the teachers’ rooms.
