The FC Bayern Munich footballers lost their group victory in the Champions League.

Coach Alexander Straus’ team lost 2:3 (1:1) at WFC Arsenal on the last matchday and is in second place behind the Londoners, two points behind. FC Bayern’s place in the quarter-finals was already certain before the game at Meadow Park.

The Munich team fell behind early on thanks to an own goal from Glódís Viggósdóttir (7th minute).

The guests turned the score around with two goals from Swede Magdalena Eriksson (39th/58th), before Alessia Russo and Mariona Caldentey scored a hand penalty to seal Arsenal’s group victory.

Bayern won the first leg in Munich 5-2. The quarter-finals will be drawn on February 7th in Nyon. VfL Wolfsburg, who also came second in the group, is also in the draw. Unlike VfL, the Bayern women have never won the premier class title.
