Trade union also receives a blow in Europe: conviction for nuisance during strike does not violate the right to strike

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has ruled against Thierry Bodson, president of the socialist trade union FGTB (ABVV) and other trade union members in a case involving a general strike action in October 2015. The trade union militants were subsequently prosecuted for the major inconvenience due to road blocks. According to the ECHR, this conviction does not constitute an infringement of the freedom of assembly or association.
