According to VVMC, the strike applies to all NS employees, such as office staff, driving staff and non-driving staff on the platforms, from 4.00 am to 3.59 hours the next day.

According to VVMC, NS is seeking no approach in the collective labor agreement conflict with the unions and the North-West region is therefore added to the actions. “Until now, NS does not make any attempt to grant our requirements for a fair wage and better working conditions. We are forced to take action again. We ask travelers to understand and call NS to come up with a serious and honest proposal,” says director Wim Eilert of VVMC.

On Friday, almost the entire train traffic in the Netherlands stopped due to a strike from the unions in the Central region.

Trade unionist Eilert says he is further open to discussions with Schiphol about a minimum timetable to the airport. “I assume that Schiphol will report to us. Then we will see together what we can do.”

During the strike on Friday there were sprinters four times per hour in both directions between Amsterdam Central and Hoofddorp/Schiphol. According to NS, that was decided in good consultation with Schiphol and the unions.
