The last stage of the UCI Track Champions League in London ends with a broken arm and a lot of fear

December 7 – 11.21pm – MILAN

Bitter ending in London. The fifth and final stage of the 2024 UCI Track Champions League ends with a bad fall for the British Katy Marchant and the German Alessa-Catriona Pröpster, who were involved in an accident during the semi-final of the women’s Keirin which also involved the public .

damages and verdicts

A broken arm for Marchant and only a few bruises (but a lot of fear) for Pröpster, who was left in a state of shock. The two cyclists collided during the track race, ending up running over two spectators. The emergency services intervened immediately and transported the four people involved to the nearest London hospital. If the women’s Endurance had already ended with the victory of Katie Archibald, in the sprint only the verdict of the Keirin remained to be defined, where Alina Lysenko was already certain of the overall victory. We are waiting to understand which results will be officially counted after the accident.
