Shortly after midnight, at least two people distracted a tourist on May-Ayim-Ufer at the Oberbaumbrücke, asking him intrusive questions, while a third man tried to steal his wallet from behind.
However, the victim noticed the perpetrator and held him by his pants until police arrived.
The man who had engaged him in conversation was able to escape undetected. The victim searched the area for his wallet with the police. Apparently unsuccessful.
