The Canadians Bianca Andreescu and Caroline Garcia are in the final of the lawn tennis tournament in Bad Homburg.

22-year-old Andreescu benefited from an injury to Romanian Simona Halep, who was unable to compete in the semifinals due to a neck problem. Andreescu, US Open winner from 2019, entered the final without a fight.

Garcia, who won against her compatriot Alizé Cornet 7: 6 (11: 9), 3: 6, 7: 5, is waiting there the following day. Cornet had surprisingly prevailed against defending champion Angelique Kerber. Garcia held her own against Sabine Lisicki in the quarterfinals. In the duel between the two French women, Garcia even had to fend off a match point in the third set at a score of 4:5 before she made it into the final after 2:45 hours.
