Toprak Razgatlıoğlu is on the podium in Indonesia – Breaking Motor Sports news



National motorcyclist Toprak Razgatlıoğlu took the podium first in the superpole race and second in the last race of the weekend at the World Superbike Championship held in Indonesia.


The second stage of the season in the World Superbike Championship was held on the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit.


Red Bull athlete Toprak, who finished first in the superpole race, which started at 05.30 CEST before the second race, with the Pata Yamaha Prometeon team, won the first victory of this season and got the right to start the main race from the pole position.


After his first place in the Superpole race, Toprak drove with a crescent-star flag on the track for a while. While Indonesian racing fans showed great love to Toprak, a group of spectators pressed the letters of Toprak’s name on their t-shirts and cheered for the national athlete in the audience area.


In the second race of 21 laps of the weekend, which started at 08:30 CET, seven laps were run and Toprak competed with Michael Ruben Rinaldi for the first place. Due to an accident between other athletes on this lap, red flags were raised and the race was stopped for a while.


After the health checks of the athletes and the necessary work, the race was restarted over 14 laps from where it left off.


With the Pata Yamaha Prometeon team, Toprak took the podium by passing the checkered flag in second place. Ducati’s Alvaro Bautista finished first, while Honda’s Xavi Vierge was third.


Following these results, Ducati driver Alvaro Bautista ranked first with 112 points in the pilots’ general classification, national motorcyclist Toprak Razgatlıoğlu from Yamaha took the second place with 75 points, and Andrea Locatelli, another Yamaha pilot, took the third place with 70 points.


The next race in the championship will be held in the Netherlands on 21-23 April.
