Tooske Ragas hopes that Xander de Buisonjé does not regret revealing on television that he had been abused for years. “And that it gives him relief,” said the presenter.
It is no longer possible to keep track of the number of celebrity programs, but the EO now also has one running: Hell or Hotelin which six stars are locked up in a prison with a group of rehabilitated ex-convicts. One of those prominent figures is Xander de Buisonjé and he makes a shocking revelation in last weekend’s episode.
Went wrong
One of the ex-detainees tells Xander when things went wrong for him, namely after a revelation from his mother. “Then she told me that my real father raped my sister. That’s why I got stuck, because I went off the rails, you know?”
Xander then reveals: “Why I hate it so much is because I have experienced this in my life. As a child, I was killed by someone, ehh… It doesn’t matter who, but up to and including the age of fourteen… He took his own life when I was 14. I had shit with that for the rest of my life.”
Under threat
How did the abuse take place? “Under threat. Just a very big, fat gun and he later took his own life with that gun. That is ultimately my ‘luck’, otherwise I might have gone after him myself when I was older. So I can understand why you snapped.”
Show news presenter Tooske Ragas is terrified. “It really made me feel a bit nauseous. So bad. So bad.”
Is he happy?
Tooske thinks it’s quite something that Xander just says this on TV. “The circumstances must have been so impressive that Xander, who has never told this story publicly in his entire life…,” she says in Show news. “I really hope that he is happy afterwards that he said it now and that it gives him relief.”
Private boss Evert Santegoeds fears that it will continue to haunt Xander. “Now that he has told this story, I think he will be asked about it more often.”
Tooske concludes: “I hope he is doing well.”
