The Saxons and the “Effzeh” deliver a fast -paced game. Already in the first half of the game it will be wild at times. Shortly before the break, all dams break.

RB Leipzig is at least temporarily new in the Bundesliga in the table. The Saxons won the Bundesliga top game against 1. FC Köln on Saturday evening with 3: 1 (3: 1) and thus pushed themselves to the rank directly behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Assan Ouédraogo (13th), Rômulo (44th) and David Raum with a remarkable free kick (45.+4) scored the goals for the team of coach Ole Werner, who also also added the first defeat of the season to the previously strong promoter. Jan Thlelmann (23rd) achieved the interim compensation for the guests.

From the beginning, Leipzig had to deal with a confident promoter. The guests played courageously and sometimes combined safely to the last third, but RB in turn came over the fast outside at a higher pace and demanded great attention from the Cologne defensive.

Leipzig increasingly pushed into the danger zone, ultimately with success: Ouédraogo crowned his debut. The 19 -year -old former Schalke, who had failed most of the pre -season due to injury, used the confusion in the penalty area and hit the lead from a short distance. Cologne was unimpressed and continued to find playful solutions. Eric Martel played Thielmann Frei, the midfielder overcame RB goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi in his 250th Bundesliga game.

Both teams met at eye level and searched the way forward in an entertaining duel. Shortly before the break, Leipzig then set a hearty neckline: Rômulo and national player space with a direct free kick set the course for RB for victory.

The break management managed Leipzig confidently in the second half. The Saxons were defensively stable and developed further good goal opportunities, Yan Diomande (59th) failed free -standing. Little came from Cologne. Ragnar Ache (60th) gave the best chance after a counterattack.
